Poll: Edwards supporters: who will you support now?

I know it's a bit early and I hope that it's not inappropriate to ask this right now. I can't imagine what you are feeling. But I was curious about a few things and wanted to ask a few questions from you and get your feedback.

1.) Do you already have a second choice in mind with Edwards dropping out of the race?

2.) Would Edwards' endorsement of one of the remaining candidates influence your decision in any way?

3.) If Senator Edwards remains on the ballot, will you still vote for him despite him dropping out of the race today?

I'm actually going to wait (none / 0)

to see what he says.

Not that I don't have my own mind but quite honestly all 3 were excellent candidates.

I like Hillary's framing on issues better than Obama's, but I think Obama would actually have a better shot against McCain.

I'll wait.

Well, I am in Illinois and voted early a week and a half ago.  I voted for John Edwards then and even if I waited to vote until this Tuesday, I would have still voted for him.

BTW, there is no way I would have voted for Clinton.  If I had to make a choice between her and Obama, I would choose Obama.

who will you support now? (none / 0)

Maybe now Ralph Nader will run and provide a candidacy for progressives.

Gee, that's a great idea. He's done so well with getting progressives like Al Gore elected in the past.

Re: who will you support now? (2.00 / 1)

I loved Edwards' message, but I never would have voted for him in a million years if he weren't running as a Democrat.

The point of Edwards' campaign was to move the Democratic Party in a progressive direction, not just to be a gadfly with no chance of achieving anything.

Re: (none / 0)

Too late for me here in Iowa.  I already had the honor of being a precinct captain for Edwards.

I voted "no frickin' clue" at Kos today (none / 0)

If I had not already caucused for Edwards, I don't know what I would do. Possibly I would write him in, or write in Al Gore.

I used to have Obama as a strong second choice, but the last few months have deepened all of my concerns about him as a candidate and a potential president.

I worry about Hillary's ability to win and the fact that she would elevate people like Al From, Terry McAuliffe and Mark Penn, who are just toxic for our party.
